Jack and Eliza

December 29, 2015 by Deborah Ma in sounds

Jack and Eliza is a New York City based band who released their debut EP, "No Wonders" in 2014. They've just recently released their follow-up album, "Gentle Warnings" with the music video for track, "A Quarter Past the Hour" released 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty in love with it. The look of it is great. And who doesn't like kisses in summer?

“Calling you out to take it on,
I don’t mind,
Rulling it out, do what you want, I don’t mind.”

The girl and boy duo makes music that is 1 part dizzy lo-fi rock, 1 part smooth indie vocals and 2 parts throwback to 60's surfer rock, i.e. think Beach Boys' harmonies. Their vibe is cool and clean and while being heavily retrospective, if not nostalgic, their music manages to be alluringly fresh. I've been playing them on loop for the past week.
